Our Prop The 'Bomb'

For our film plot we required a prop of a bomb. This is because it the most important part of our title sequence as it is what grabs the viewers attention and is the enigma in the storyline, like the character of the false antagonist. Therefore we needed to make the film prop ourselves. The photograph above is the finished product and is a screen shot from our film. We decided to go for the more traditional looking 'bomb', as we need the audience to automatically recognise for what it is so that there is no confusion. To create the bomb prop I used some hot glue gun sticks which were then rapped up in red paper, to give the impression of dynamite. I then added a couple of batteries and some wire and tape to create a confusing messy looking effect. Finally to finish off the 'bomb' I added a timer which we used to film as the numbers ticked down to 0 and when the bomb actually detonates.
