Film Certificates

Our films Certificate 

After researching into the classification process of films and the different certificates that are awarded to films we decided that we needed to think about what our film will be certificated as. We decided to go with the certificate of a 12. This is because a 12 rating is a common rating for thriller films, for example the two thrillers 'Flight Plan' and 'Source Code' are both certificated as a 12. Although we have not yet come up with a treatment for our film we think both Source Code and Flight Plan are both good examples of thriller films and we would like to create our film following the paths of these films, therefore we think we should give our film the same rating as them. I think setting our film around the certificate of a 12 will allow us to have action and some violence without being too graphic. We also felt that at the age of 12 you are more likely to be interested in thrillers as children below this age are not a common audience for thrillers and thrillers are often inappropriate for children under this age as they often include things like mature themes and violence.
