Taking of the Pelham 123 1974
Like what we did with Psycho we watched the opening title sequence of Taking of the Pelham 123 to help us understand the order of which the credits appear in thriller films. We made notes as the credit sequence appeared and wrote down what we saw in the order in which they appeared. This is the order of the credits:
- Palomar Pictures and Palladium Productions present - the top production company names
- Taking of the Pelham one two three - the film title
- Starring - then follows with four of the top actors names e.g. Walter Matthau, these names are placed in the centre of the screen.
- Music by... - in the left corner
- director of photography... - in the right corner
- Art director..., Costume Designer... - in the same shot
- Edited by...and...
- Associate producer...
- Based on the novel by...
- Screen play by...
- Produced by...
- Directed by... - then fades out to an establishing shot of the New York city streets.
From this i have realised that most film credit sequences start of with the production company/companies names as the starting point of there film title sequence. Therefore when we come to make our film we will have to think about the order of which we put the credits in, and starting with our production company's name 'Fade Productions' would be a good starting point for our credit sequence.
